Indian Green & Battery Stocks Roundup – September 29

Battery stocks witnessed a mixed trading session on July 22, as investors continued to juggle between growth optimism in clean energy and macroeconomic uncertainty. While Eveready Industries and Indo-National led the gainers’ list with strong momentum in consumer battery and energy transition plays, several players including CLN Energy, High Energy Batteries, and Waaree Technologies posted declines, hinting at selective market enthusiasm.

Eveready Industries jumped by 4.55% to close at ₹414.55, supported by increased traction in the alkaline and lithium battery segments. Indo-National Ltd. followed with a 2.41% gain to ₹476.85, buoyed by stable FMCG-linked demand and steady retail performance. Exide Industries also edged up 1.32%, driven by growing investor confidence in its lithium-ion expansion roadmap.

On the flip side, CLN Energy Ltd., High Energy Batteries, and Waaree Technologies each dropped 2.00%, amid investor caution regarding order flows and defense-sector exposure. Panasonic Energy India, Tata Power, and HBL Engineering Ltd. also saw marginal declines between -0.58% and -0.91%, tracking muted sentiment across the power utility pack.

As India’s clean energy ambitions scale up, battery companies remain in focus—but investor appetite appears more selective, rewarding firms with near-term visibility and diversified energy strategies.
