Indian Wind Industry Delegation to EU-India Wind Summit 2026

The Indian wind industry delegation, led by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), will participate in the EU-India Wind Energy Business Summit 2026 in Hamburg, Germany, from September 22 to 25. The delegation will include representatives from MNRE, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA), as well as leading manufacturers and other industry representatives from India.

Organised as part of the EU-India Clean Energy and Climate Partnership, with GIZ and Expertise France supporting its implementation, the Summit will bring together key institutions and industry bodies from India and Europe, including the European Commission, WindEurope, IRENA, IEA, German Energy Agency (DENA), German Wind Energy Association (BWE), Danish Energy Agency, Stiftung Offshore Windenergie and Global Offshore Wind Alliance, alongside European developers, manufacturers, suppliers, infrastructure providers and financiers.

Held alongside WindEnergy Hamburg, the Summit comes at a significant juncture for India’s wind sector. With the EU-India Free Trade Agreement creating new avenues for trade, investment and industrial cooperation, discussions will focus on strengthening manufacturing and technology partnerships, expanding exports and integrating Indian companies further into global wind energy supply chains. While India has installed 58+ GW of installed capacity , EU has an installed capacity of about 246 GW with excellence in R&D and Offshore wind installations which make it a great collaborative effort during the Summit especially in the emerging geo-political scenario

India has developed a strong and increasingly localised wind manufacturing ecosystem, with around 24 GW of annual domestic wind turbine manufacturing capacity and approximately 70–80% indigenisation across major components. The country is also a significant global supplier of key wind components, including blades, gearboxes and generators.

The Summit will feature an opening session on September 22, followed by high-level panels on offshore and onshore wind, and business roundtables on September 23 focused on translating EU-India cooperation into concrete opportunities for the wind sector. MNRE Joint Secretary Rajesh Kulhari will participate in the opening plenary session along with IWTMA Chairman Girish Tanti, Executive Vice-Chairman, Suzlon Group, will participate in the offshore wind panel. Dr. Saravanan Manickam, Vice Chairman cum Secretary, IWTMA and Country Head & Managing Director, Nordex India, will participate in the onshore plenary panel, while IWTMA CEO Aditya Pyasi will moderate the onshore wind business roundtable.

Aditya Pyasi, CEO, IWTMA, said, “India has built a strong wind manufacturing ecosystem and is already emerging as a significant exporter of wind turbines and components. With exports reaching around ₹12,800 crore in FY2025–26, the opportunity now is to scale further and capture a larger share of the global wind equipment market. The EU-India FTA can support this journey by creating greater opportunities for trade and collaboration, while continued focus on scale, cost competitiveness and technology will be critical to strengthening India’s position in global wind supply chains.”

The Summit will provide a platform for stakeholders across India and Europe to explore opportunities across manufacturing, exports, technology, supply chains and the development of onshore and offshore wind, with the business roundtables aimed at identifying concrete areas for future collaboration.
