Iontra Inc., a fast-growing company that makes smart battery sensing and charge control, has hired Intralink, an international business development consulting firm, to help it grow and speed up its entry into the Chinese market. Iontra’s Series C funding round in November 2024, led by Volta Energy Technologies, came before this move. It fits with the company’s ambitious plan to grow around the world.
US-based Iontra has developed patented intelligent battery sensing and charge control algorithms that enable real-time monitoring of battery health while optimizing the charging process for lithium-ion batteries. The company states that its technology can quadruple battery life cycles and double charging speeds. In addition, the solution enhances safety by detecting degradation early, minimizing damage during rest and charging, and enabling safer charging at low temperatures.
Iontra offers scalable deployment models to accommodate varying customer budgets. Solutions are available as software-only offerings or as embedded firmware on a microcontroller unit (MCU) through its IONTIC MCU platform.
Intralink, a global business development consultancy, assists companies in securing customers, partners, and investors across international markets. The firm operates from 27 locations, including Shanghai, Beijing, New Delhi, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, London, Paris, Silicon Valley, Boston, and Toronto.
Jeff Granato, CEO of Iontra, said:
“As the world’s largest battery and electronics market, China represents a major growth opportunity for us. We’re committed to the region and look forward to exponential growth as we expand across various sectors with experienced local support for our customers.“With a 25-year track record and proven success in China, Intralink Shanghai will play a key role in accelerating our market expansion in Asia and building a long-term presence in this fast-growing, highly competitive landscape.”
China accounts for approximately 25% of Iontra’s international opportunity and is the company’s fastest-growing regional market. The country is home to leading lithium-ion battery manufacturers including ATL, CATL, Lishen, Highpower, Tenpower, and BYD, as well as consumer electronics brands such as OPPO, Vivo, and Anker. Mobility companies including Geely and GAC present additional growth opportunities.
Intralink’s team in Shanghai will work to strengthen relationships with current customers and reach out to new ones in the consumer electronics, industrial electronics, and micro-mobility sectors. They will also help build partnerships with up-and-coming chip makers in China.
