Waaree Renewable Wins EPC Order for 291 MWp Solar

Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) for an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) project combining solar power generation with battery energy storage. The project includes the development of 291 MWp of solar capacity along with a 280 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

The award strengthens Waaree Renewable Technologies’ presence in India’s growing renewable energy and energy storage market. The integrated solar-plus-storage project is expected to support more reliable and flexible renewable power generation while contributing to the country’s expanding clean energy infrastructure.

The order has been placed by an Indian thermal power generator and is a domestic commercial project. The company expects to complete the project in FY28, according to a regulatory filing.

The contract covers a 291 MWp ground-mounted solar PV project along with 280 MWh of BESS. Waaree Renewable has not disclosed the financial value of the order.

The award strengthens the company’s presence in the growing solar-plus-storage segment as it expands beyond conventional solar EPC.

At the end of the June quarter, Waaree Renewable’s unexecuted order book stood above ₹5,300 crore. Its bidding pipeline included over 37 GWp of solar projects and more than 10 GWh of BESS projects, besides T&D opportunities worth over ₹20,000 crore.

The company reported a 34% year-on-year rise in net profit in the June quarter. Revenue from operations increased 53% to ₹924 crore, while EBITDA rose 48% to ₹173 crore.

Waaree Renewable also completed the acquisition of a 55% stake in Associated Power Structures Pvt Ltd during the quarter to expand its transmission and distribution capabilities.

“This strengthens our capabilities in transmission and distribution (T&D), enabling us to offer integrated solutions while continuing to expand our renewable EPC business in a disciplined and scalable manner,” Manmohan Sharma, CFO, Waaree Renewable Technologies, said.

A Letter of Award (LOA) for the turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 124 MWp solar power project was given to Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd. (WRTL) earlier this month. The project consists of a 132/33 kV pooling substation and a 124 MWp DC/88 MW AC solar photovoltaic facility.
