JBM Green Energy Systems has announced that the company has received orders for 3 GWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across India. The lithium-ion battery division of JBM Auto Ltd., which the company runs, will provide 1 GWh of storage for SJVN Ltd., a state-run power company, along with services for additional clients.
India is pushing for a greener future, and the increased order book growth shows this. By providing time-shifting, frequency regulation, and peak shaving, battery energy storage systems help renewable energy technologies to work smoothly with the grid.
The Delhi-NCR region is home to JBM Green Energy System’s massive high-voltage lithium-ion battery production facility, which the company calls the biggest in India. Every year, the factory is designed to make 6 GWh worth of cells, which can be used in electric vehicles and for energy storage.
These battery storage systems made by the company are meant for the grid and include capabilities like quick reaction and working with solar panels. These systems help India meet its goal of getting 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030, which would require significant energy storage solutions due to the intermittent nature of renewables.
Nishant Arya discussed that JBM Auto’s electric vehicle battery knowledge can be applied to large-scale storage systems. He stressed the work the company had done over five years to develop battery and storage systems in India.
JBM Green Energy Systems delivers batteries for several sectors, covering passenger vehicles, commercial transport, bikes, rickshaws, and different sorts of battery storage, starting from mini-grids and going up to large projects. The firm looks after the stages of design, production, sale, and support for its batteries.
JBM is now focusing on more than just electric vehicle batteries by working in utility-scale storage. As more renewable power is used in India, it is expected that more battery storage will be needed to fortify the grid and allow more solar and wind electricity.
For more than ten years, JBM Auto Ltd. has worked with green mobility and energy solutions, which formed the base for the operations of its battery and storage system subsidiary. JBM Green Energy Systems’ growth in storage is being supported by the manufacturing and energy experience of its parent company.
