Jio-bp inaugurates its 500th EV charging station in Mumbai.

Anant Mukesh Ambani, Director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), and Murray Auchincloss, CEO of bp, opened Jio-bp’s 500th EV-charging station at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). The new station also has the 5,000th Jio-bp pulse charging point in India.

Jio-bp, a fuels and mobility cooperation between RIL and bp, has increased its EV-charging network from 1,300 to 5,000 charging sites in only a year. The network has a 95% share of fast-charging stations, the highest in the market, and an industry-leading 96% uptime, establishing Jio-bp as a dependable charging provider in India.

The company has introduced advanced 480 kW chargers, delivering an efficient and rapid charging experience at strategic locations, including malls, corporate parks, and public spaces. Jio-bp’s focus on reducing range anxiety, minimising charging times with DC fast chargers, and offering a seamless digital experience via the Jio-bp pulse charging app has positioned it as a leader in promoting electric vehicle (EV) adoption in the country.

“Jio-bp is playing a pioneering role in accelerating EV adoption in India. With the largest share of fast-charging stations, rapid growth in infrastructure, and high reliability, Jio-bp is offering a comprehensive, digitised charging solution to millions of Indians,” said Anant Ambani during the inauguration.

As part of its broader commitment to sustainable mobility, Jio-bp is leveraging Reliance Jio’s solar power plants to provide green electrons, contributing to its goal of promoting environmentally friendly transport solutions in India.

Murray Auchincloss added, “EV charging is a key transition business for bp in our journey towards becoming an integrated energy company. By combining bp and RIL’s capabilities, we are delivering convenient and strategic EV charging solutions with a unique value proposition for customers.”

With its rapidly expanding infrastructure, focus on customer satisfaction, and commitment to sustainability, Jio-bp continues to strengthen its position as the fastest-growing and most reliable EV charging network in India.
