Juniper Green Energy Signs 25-Year PPA with TATA Power for 70 MW FDRE Project in Maharashtra

Juniper Green Energy, made an announcement on Monday, its subsidiary Juniper Green Sigma Eight Private Limited has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with TATA Power Company Limited for a 70 Mw Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project. The contract is a 25-year agreement.

Juniper Green Energy, as part of this PPA will come up with a renewable energy initiative in Maharashtra, which will include a combination of solar, wind and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The project will have renewable power of about 180 MWp and BESS of about 280 MWh. This FDRE project is expected to start power supply on 22 September 2027 and pass it to TATA Power Company Limited.

“We are proud to partner with TATA Power Company Limited on this FDRE project,” said Ankush Malik, Chief Executive Officer of Juniper Green Energy. “This PPA demonstrates our capability to undertake and deliver renewable projects that allow us to align with the country’s goal for sustainable and reliable power.”

Juniper Green Energy is still expanding its hold in the renewable energy industry. Previously, the company already agreed on a PPA with NHPC on a 250 MW FDRE project to provide power to state Haryana, in June 2025.

Juniper Green Energy is an independent renewable energy power producer in India specializing in the development, construction and operation of utility-scale solar, wind and hybrid renewable energy power facilities. It has been based in Delhi NCR since October 2018; the operational capacity of the company has increased to an approximate of 1.45 GWp (as of June 27th, 2025). Having knowledge of the project lifecycle, i.e., the first idea to construction and development in the whole of India, Juniper Green Energy can offer energy solutions and pursue large-scale projects, hence contributing to the transition of India to clean energy.
