Along with the release of a smartphone app that allows drivers to monitor availability, locations, and prices on their routes, Kwik Trip announced that it would be installing electric car chargers at a number of its stores around the Midwest. The program’s goal is to give drivers in the Midwest access to direct current fast chargers by providing connectors that support both the North American Charging Standard (NACS) and the Combined Charging Standard (CCS).

“At Kwik Trip our goal is to take care of all our guests. We are pleased to offer the Kwik Charge program to our guests who drive EVs. They will not only be able to charge their vehicle but can take advantage of all our quality offerings inside our stores,” said, CEO and President of Kwik Trip Scott Zietlow.

According to the firm, owners of practically any electric vehicle will be able to charge at a clean, safe place that is staffed around-the-clock thanks to its new Kwik ChargeTM program.

When four vehicles are plugged in, the chargers should provide at least 150kW of power per dispenser; when just one vehicle is put in, the capacity should reach 400kW.

Kwik Trip did not provide an anticipated timeframe for when drivers will be able to access the chargers, instead stating that the pricing may vary depending on a number of criteria.
