MSEB Agro Power Limited, a subsidiary of MSEB Holding Company Limited, has come out with a tender where it has called bids to develop 1.6 GW of decentralized ground-mounted solar power projects. Such undertakings are through the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0, which is one of the leading initiatives to encourage the production of solar energy on agricultural feeder level throughout the state of Maharashtra.
In the tender, there is a detailed description of the scope of work that covers the entire financing, ownership, design, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the solar projects. The developers who are chosen will also operate and maintain the projects for a duration of 25 years from the commission date. These solar system installations will be placed at the feeder level so that local power can be produced, thus minimizing losses in transmission, which will benefit the agricultural energy requirements of the state.
According to the tender specifications, bidders who are interested must provide an earnest money deposit (EMD) of 100,000 rupees with their bids. Moreover, bidders receiving the contract are required to give a performance bank guarantee (PBG) of Rs. 500000 to be used to meet the project requirements on time and with quality.
The bids will be received by August 28, 2025. It is anticipated that by the time of award, the successful bidders will have reached commercial operation of the solar power plants within a duration of 12 months of the award of the Letter of Award.
