NPCL Floats Tender for 300 MW Round-the-Clock Renewable Power

NPCL Floats Tender for 300 MW Round-the-Clock Renewable Power

Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) has invited bids to select renewable energy developers for the supply of 300 MW of round-the-clock (RTC) power from projects connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS). The minimum bid capacity has been set at 50 MW, with the online bid submission deadline scheduled for October 1, 2026.

  • Capacity: 300 MW RTC renewable power
  • Minimum bid size: 50 MW.
  • Deadline: October 1, 2026.
  • Eligible technologies: Solar, wind and other renewable energy sources recognised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
  • Storage requirement: Energy storage systems must be integrated into the RTC supply configuration.
  • Project status: Both new projects and commissioned or under-construction projects with untied capacity can participate.
  • Grid connectivity: Projects must be capable of interconnecting with an ISTS substation at 220 kV
  • Bid fees: ₹15 lakh processing fee and ₹29,500 document fee.

The selected developers will be responsible for supplying RTC power along with the required energy storage and transmission infrastructure up to the interconnection or delivery point. Developers may establish storage capacity themselves or partner with dedicated energy storage system providers. The tender is technology agnostic, allowing bidders to propose configurations combining solar, wind and storage to meet the RTC supply requirement. The tender represents an effort to expand the availability of firm renewable power while integrating energy storage into the supply framework.

Developed as an industrial hub and urban settlement, Noida Power Company Limited is a power distribution company that illuminates Greater Noida by reaching out to a population of approximate a million sprawling across hamlets, villages, and a new township spanning an area of 335 sq. km.

As a joint venture between the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, a leading business house in India, and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority, an autonomous body of the U.P. Government responsible for town planning and infrastructure development, it gives a strategic dimension to the privatized distribution of electricity in North India. Since December 1993 after getting the grant of license by the U.P. Government, it has been spreading smiles all across the miles with its strong distribution network.
