Okaya EV Unveils Ferrato Disruptor E-Sports Bikes Revolutionized

Okaya EV unveiled its new premium subsidiary brand, Ferrato, in March. Now, the startup has introduced the inaugural model under this brand, named Disruptor. Priced at Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom), deliveries for the Ferrato Disruptor are set to commence from August.

Pre-bookings for this electric sports bike have begun through the company’s official website, with the first 1000 buyers able to reserve the Disruptor for a token amount of Rs 500. Okaya promises a running cost of 25 paise per kilometre and offers a 3-year/30,000 km warranty on the Ferrato Disruptor.

Anshul Gupta, Managing Director of Okaya EV, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “We are thrilled to introduce the Disruptor, under the Ferrato banner, to Indian bike enthusiasts eager to experience the potential of EVs. With its innovative technology, exhilarating performance, and sporty design, the Disruptor is poised to redefine the road landscape, leading the charge in delivering innovative and sustainable mobility solutions.”

The Ferrato Disruptor boasts a contemporary faired sports bike appearance, featuring a twin-LED headlamp setup integrated into the front apron. Notable design elements include a floating tail section, split seats, split grab rails, and fairing side skirts. It rides on 17-inch black alloy wheels and is available in three colours: Inferno Red, Thunder Blue, and Stealth Black.

In terms of features, it includes a fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth and GPS connectivity, geo-fencing, and Find My Vehicle functionality. Okaya also offers an optional soundbox accessory, which replicates the sound of a conventional petrol-powered motorcycle to alert pedestrians and other riders in the vicinity.

The Disruptor is powered by a mid-mounted permanent magnet motor with a nominal output of 3.3 kW and a peak output of 6.37 kW, delivering power to the rear wheel via a chain drive system. Okaya claims a top speed of 380 kmph and offers three ride modes: Eco, City, and Sports, along with a reverse assist mode.

The motor is energized by a 4 kWh LFP battery, providing a claimed range of 129 km on a single charge, with a full charge taking five hours. Okaya EV provides a 3-year or 30,000-kilometer warranty on the battery, whichever comes first.
