Oriana Power is setting up a 50 MW / 100 MWh battery energy storage system in Rajasthan to boost grid stability.

Truere Knight, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Oriana Power, signed a battery energy storage purchase agreement (BESPA) with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (RVUNL) to develop a standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) at Heerapura, Jaipur Substation of 50 MW and with a capacity of 100 MWh in Rajasthan.

The project, which is targeted on enhancing grid reliability and energy efficiency, will be undertaken through the build-own-operate (BOO) model. The demand-supply balancing will be achieved with this grid-scale BESS project, and the risks of the blackouts will be reduced due to the improvements with regard to the grid stability. There is the total order value of Rs 188.61 crore with feasibility gap funding (VGF) of Rs 27 crore as per the present estimation of the cost work. The project should be commissioned in a period of 18 months after the signing of the BESPA.

The deal highlights the intention of Oriana Power to adhere to the clean energy solutions and take the lead on the battery storage sector. The company made it clear that the group of promoters does not have a financial stake in RVUNL, and it is not the transaction, which is considered the related party transaction.

Three talented, energetic, and young professionals launched Oriana Power. They came together and bootstrapped their firm in the year 2013. Due to their sheer knowledge, ambition, and vision of becoming one of the biggest and most reputable names in solar energy globally, in a span of less than ten years, their dedication and tenacity have elevated Oriana to the top 10 names in India.

The organization has carried out numerous solar energy projects in Kenya and India. They have been offering specialized and affordable solutions to large corporations, commercial hubs, and industries across India. They have also been appointed by Indian PSUs and government bodies to carry out significant renewable energy projects on their behalf.
