The Rajasthan Energy Conservation Awards 2026 recognized 73 individuals and institutions for their exemplary contributions to energy conservation, highlighting the state’s ongoing commitment to sustainable energy practices. The awards ceremony was held at the Constitutional Club, Jaipur.
Energy Minister Calls for Citizen Participation
Hon’ble Energy Minister Shri Heeralal Nagar emphasized the importance of public participation in energy conservation, stating:
“Every citizen of the state should remain aware and fulfil their responsibility towards energy conservation.”
He further noted that with rapid urbanization and industrial growth, the need to conserve energy has become more critical than ever.
Government Initiatives Supporting Energy Efficiency
Under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the Rajasthan government continues to promote energy conservation initiatives across sectors. The Energy Minister added:
“Energy conservation and economic growth are complementary to each other. Energy efficiency helps reduce industrial costs and energy consumption.”
He congratulated all the award winners for their notable contributions in advancing energy-saving measures.
Inclusive Approach to Energy Conservation
On the occasion, Shri Ajitabh Sharma, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Department, shared:
“The State Government is making effective efforts to promote energy conservation through the all actors inclusive State Energy Action Plan.”
Dr Rohit Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited, highlighted the state’s leadership in renewable energy:
“The Corporation is promoting both energy conservation and green energy, and Rajasthan continues to be a leading state with 42 GW of renewable energy capacity.”
Awardees and Special Initiatives
Among the 73 awardees, Alwar Collector Dr Artika Shukla was recognized alongside individuals and institutions across five major categories for exemplary work in energy conservation during 2022–23, 2023–24, and 2024–25.
In addition, induction cooktops were distributed to 10 beneficiaries under the PM Surya Ghar Scheme, supporting energy-efficient household solutions.
