Schneider Electric Appoints Amit Sharma as Vice President of Power Products

Schneider Electric, the energy management and automation giant based worldwide, has declared the appointment of Amit Sharma as Vice President of Power Products and Digital Energy of the Greater India Zone. He replaces Nikhil Pathak, who gets to retire after a glorious 15-year term of service at Schneider Electric that was characterized by immense contribution to the growth and transformation of the company within various business segments.

This change of leadership also highlights that talent continuity and talent development have been highly emphasized as far as Schneider Electric is concerned, as the company believes in developing internal talent in order to take strategic business priorities forward. The legacy left behind by Pathak and the appointment of Sharma are in line with the long-term vision of the company to become a global innovation and growth hub with Greater India.

Commenting on the appointment, Deepak Sharma, Zone President – Greater India and MD & CEO, Schneider Electric India, said, “Amit’s deep expertise, strategic mindset, and customer-focused approach make him well-suited to lead our Power Products and Digital Energy business. With over 29 years of global and Indian experience, including 15 years with Schneider Electric, he will help accelerate innovation and drive greater value for our customers. I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to Nikhil for his outstanding leadership and lasting contributions to the Greater India Zone.”

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Amit Sharma said, “It is a privilege to lead the Power Products and Digital Energy business at such a transformative time. These domains are central to Schneider Electric’s mission of enabling customers on their digital and sustainability journeys. My priority will be to enhance our software and digital powertrain offerings, strengthen innovation, and ensure we continue delivering superior value to our customers. I look forward to working with our teams to build on our strong foundation and unlock new opportunities for growth in the Greater India Zone.”

Under his new role, Amit Sharma will manage the overall business end-to-end operations and profitability of the Power Products and Digital Energy business to grow and transform the strategy of Schneider Electric in India and the surrounding markets. Having almost thirty years of experience in both domestic and international positions, Sharma has managed global marketing, digitalization, and product innovation projects, including his experience in France with the Medium Voltage (MV) division of Schneider Electric.

He played a key role in the formulation of the global MV AIS portfolio and the global India for India Power Systems venture, where the innovations and synergy in markets are market-specific and aim at developing inter-country R&D between India and the world. Before joining Schneider Electric, he worked 14 years with ABB, where he worked on some strategic projects in different business segments.

The appointment of Mr. Sharma is indicative of the fact that Schneider Electric remains committed to the principles of innovation, digital transformation, and leadership excellence, which are some of the pillars that will form the next stage of its development in the Greater India region. Schneider Electric has been committed to ensuring that people and organizations manage to maximize energy and resources, integrating both progress and sustainability. The company believes in efficient and sustainable solutions and is guided by its motto, which is Life Is On.

Schneider Electric provides end-to-end solutions to industrial technology, including electrification, automation, and digital transformation of smart industries, resilient infrastructure, future-ready data centers, intelligent buildings, and connected homes with approximately 30 years of experience. Connected devices, software, and services are part of the fully integrated AI-based Industrial IoT of the company that allow it to achieve profitable and sustainable growth.

Schneider Electric has a workforce of 150,000 employees and more than a million partners in 100+ countries, making the company very near its customers globally, as the company adopts diversity and inclusion in its pursuit of a sustainable future for all.
