SECI, HyperVault AI Sign MoU

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with HyperVault AI Data Center Limited (HADL) to explore renewable energy solutions for the company’s upcoming data centre facilities in Telangana.

Under the agreement, SECI will explore the development of captive renewable energy projects to supply power to HADL’s planned data centres. The initiative will also cover the identification of suitable land and facilitation of transmission connectivity required to deliver renewable power to the facilities.

The MoU was signed by Sivakumar V. Vepakomma, Director (Power Systems), SECI, and Deepesh Nanda, Managing Director and CEO, HADL. The signing ceremony was attended by Akash Tripathi, IAS, Managing Director, SECI, along with senior officials from both organisations.

The partnership is being positioned as India’s first exclusive renewable energy supply initiative dedicated to data centre operations. It aims to align the country’s rapidly growing digital infrastructure with its transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.

The initiative could help support the energy requirements of Telangana’s expanding data centre ecosystem while contributing to the adoption of renewable power in the sector.

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) is a prominent Navratna Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) functioning under the administrative control of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India. Established on September 20, 2011, SECI was originally formed to facilitate the execution of the National Solar Mission (NSM). Over the years, its mandate has vastly expanded to serve as the primary implementing agency for all forms of green energy, including solar, wind, hybrid, and waste-to-energy projects.

HyperVault AI Data Center Limited is a specialized artificial intelligence infrastructure subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) created to build high-performance, gigawatt-scale, liquid-cooled data center campuses tailored specifically for frontier AI training, inference, and advanced high-performance computing workloads.
