SGEL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Navratna CPSE SJVN Limited, has officially invited an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the outright sale of approximately 712.90 MWp of high-quality solar PV module.
The move is primarily aimed at market assessment and price discovery. These modules, which include Monocrystalline Bifacial Double Glass and Mono PERC types, are currently stored in their original packaging across multiple strategic locations in India.
Key Inventory Details & Locations
The total capacity is distributed across two major renewable energy hubs:
- Gujarat (144.06 MWp): Stored at Village Bhadra Mota, District Kutch.
- Maharashtra (568.83 MWp): Stored at Mu Mohija Paranda, District Nanded.
The inventory features top-tier global manufacturers, including Das Solar, Econess Energy, and GCL System Integration, with module ratings ranging from 550W to 580W.
Important Dates
- EOI Published: April 23, 2026
- Pre-Application Meeting: May 5, 2026(Virtual/Video Conference)
- Submission Deadline: May 14, 2026 (Physical Submission)

Critical Terms for Buyers
- “As-Is” Basis: The sale is conducted on an “as is, where is, and no complaint” basis. Buyers are encouraged to conduct their own technical evaluations and sampling at their own cost.
- ALMM Status: These modules were procured in early 2024, prior to the current ALMM (Approved List of Models and Manufacturers) regime. Prospective buyers must independently verify regulatory compliance for their specific project needs.
- No Financial Barriers: To encourage broad market participation, there is no document cost, no Earnest Money Deposit (EMD), and no Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) required at this exploratory EOI stage.
- Flexible Bidding: SGEL is open to various commercial modalities, including Lot-wise (indicative size of 50 MWp), Block-wise, or Composite bids.
This EOI represents a significant opportunity for developers and EPC players to secure large-scale, high-efficiency module inventory at a time when price discovery is crucial for project margins. As India nears its 2030 renewable targets, such secondary market movements provide essential liquidity to the supply chain.
