ThunderPlus commissioned a new fast EV charging station in Bachupally, Hyderabad, demonstrating ways in which underutilized land can be converted into productive clean mobility infrastructure. The project illustrates an increasing opportunity to convert idle spaces into revenue-generating EV assets that cater to not only daily commuters but also to fleet operators.
The charging station in Bachupally has been created by transforming a vacant land plot into a fully functional clean mobility platform, highlighting the importance of decentralised infrastructure in the expanding EV scenario in India.
Franchise Partnership Drives Local Participation
The facility was established in partnership with Manoj, the eighth EV charging franchise owner under the ThunderPlus network. An IT professional by background, Manoj took advantage of the land to create a future-proof EV charging station, demonstrating the imperative and significant role individuals play in India’s e-mobility transition.
The collaboration reflects ThunderPlus’ franchise-led expansion model, which enables local stakeholders to contribute to infrastructure development while creating sustainable business opportunities.
Fast, Accessible Charging for Multiple EV Segments
The public charging station is strategically located between Bachupally and Bowrampet; it has fitted a 60 kW fast charger. It will support a wide range of electric vehicles, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, and light commercial vehicles.
Designed to be user-friendly, the station offers an app-free charging experience to ensure ease of use for the everyday user and the commercial fleet operator. The location and charging capacity are expected to bring a wide level of improvement in convenience and charging availability in this rapidly growing suburban corridor of Hyderabad.
Commenting on the initiative, Rajeev YSR, ED and CEO of ThunderPlus, said, “India does not have a land shortage but it has an infrastructure utilisation problem. Through our franchise-led model and 250+ active charging stations across India, we are enabling everyday landowners and entrepreneurs to participate in the EV transition. Manoj’s Bachupally station is a strong example of how local assets can power India’s clean mobility future.”
Scaling Franchise-Led EV Infrastructure Nationwide
Sharing his experience, Manoj, ThunderPlus franchise partner in Bachupally said, “Partnering with ThunderPlus helped me transform unused land into a future-ready EV charging station. The company provided the right technology, support, and business model, making it rewarding to be part of a network that is building reliable charging infrastructure while creating a sustainable business opportunity.”
The opening of the facility comes at a critical juncture as it is the eighth EV charging franchise announced by ThunderPlus. Moving ahead, the new aim of the company is to establish 100 EV franchises within the next six months of operation.
