Waaree Energies has promoted Vishal Upadhyay to Vice President – Human Resources, expanding his leadership responsibilities across the organisation. Upadhyay brings more than 15 years of experience in human resources and executive leadership, with a career spanning HR governance, talent management, organisational development and employee engagement.
Upadhyay has been associated with Waaree Energies since a stage when the company had a workforce of around 100 employees. He currently serves as Head of HR, overseeing people strategy and organisational scaling for a workforce of more than 14,000 employees across the company’s Gigafactories and corporate offices.
In his expanded role, Upadhyay will lead the group-level talent strategy, with a focus on building a diversified and high-performing workforce across business units and head-office operations. His responsibilities include strengthening organisational capabilities and supporting the company’s workforce requirements as Waaree continues to expand its manufacturing and business operations.
A key part of his role involves driving HR transformation through digitalisation and AI-enabled HR processes. He is also involved in strategic project management, operational efficiency initiatives and continuous optimisation of HR functions across the organisation.
Upadhyay’s professional expertise covers end-to-end HR governance, leadership development, culture building, employee engagement and statutory compliance. His experience at Waaree has included managing HR requirements associated with organisational growth and workforce expansion across multiple locations.
Before joining Waaree Energies, Upadhyay worked as Senior Executive – Human Resources at Filatex India Ltd. He began his professional career as an HR Trainee at Amul (GCMMF).
His promotion comes as Waaree Energies continues to scale its manufacturing footprint and workforce, increasing the importance of structured talent management, leadership development and technology-enabled HR systems across its expanding operations.
