ACME Solar Commissions 107.36 MW/437.49 MWh BESS Capacity Across Two Projects in Rajasthan

ACME Solar Holdings Limited has commissioned an additional 107.36 MW/437.49 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity across two projects in Rajasthan. The newly commissioned capacity has increased the company’s total operational battery storage portfolio to 4.96 GWh, strengthening its presence in India’s utility-scale energy storage segment.

The commissioning has been carried out through the company’s subsidiaries at two locations in Rajasthan: Neemri village in Chittorgarh district and Kelan village in Bikaner district. Both installations are associated with renewable energy projects designed to supply firm and peak power through integrated battery storage systems.

The first installation, located at Neemri village in Chittorgarh district, has added 53.73 MW/222.969 MWh of operational BESS capacity. The project forms part of a Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) initiative connected to the Neemuch substation.

The Neemri project is backed by a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with a national Renewable Energy Implementing Agency (REIA). The battery storage installation is intended to support the project’s power supply commitments by enabling stored electricity to be dispatched according to demand and contractual requirements.

The second installation is situated at Kelan village in Bikaner district and contributes 53.63 MW/214.52 MWh of BESS capacity. With this addition, the total commissioned storage capacity associated with the assured peak power project at the location has reached 159.58 MW/638.32 MWh.

The Kelan project is connected to the Bikaner III substation and operates under a separate 25-year PPA with a national REIA. ACME Solar has also indicated that the remaining BESS capacity for the overall 300 MW project is scheduled for commissioning during the current financial year.

With the commissioning of the additional 107.36 MW/437.49 MWh, ACME Solar’s total operational BESS capacity has reached 4.96 GWh. The expansion adds to the company’s energy storage portfolio and reflects its ongoing deployment of battery-based solutions alongside renewable energy generation.

The two projects combine solar power integration with battery storage to support FDRE and assured peak power supply arrangements. Their connection to the Neemuch and Bikaner III substations also forms part of the infrastructure required to evacuate and deliver electricity to the grid.

ACME Solar is expected to complete the commissioning of the remaining battery storage capacity associated with the two projects within the current financial year. At the Kelan site, the overall assured peak power project has a commissioned BESS capacity of 159.58 MW/638.32 MWh, while the remaining capacity under the 300 MW project is scheduled to follow.

The installations are supported by long-term PPAs with a national REIA, with each agreement having a tenure of 25 years. The projects combine renewable energy generation, battery storage and grid connectivity to meet specified electricity supply requirements.

The latest commissioning increases ACME Solar’s operational storage portfolio to 4.96 GWh, with further capacity additions planned as the remaining project components progress towards commissioning.
