ACME Solar has announced that its fully owned subsidiary, ACME Platinum Urja, has signed an agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for a 200 MW solar project paired with an energy storage system (ESS) of 100 MW/400 MWh. The tariff set by SECI is ₹3.42 per unit.
The agreement is for a solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with SECI, marking a significant milestone for ACME Solar as it continues to strengthen India’s renewable energy and green energy infrastructure. The project, which combines solar power with energy storage, will contribute to the nation’s growing renewable energy capacity.
In July 2024, SECI had issued a Letter of Award to ACME Solar for a total capacity of 350 MW, with ACME Solar having already signed a PPA for 150 MW in October 2024. This new agreement fully covers the 200 MW solar project, bringing the total under PPA to 350 MW and representing a key development for ACME Solar.
Under the terms of the PPA, ACME Solar aims for a Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of 25%-27% during solar hours. The company is also required to maintain a minimum of 70% availability on a monthly basis and 85% annual availability during evening peak hours throughout the project’s duration. The expected commissioning date for the project is set for June 2027.
This agreement brings the total PPAs signed by ACME Solar in the current fiscal year (April 1, 2023–March 31, 2024) to 800 MW. In addition to this, the company offers a total battery storage capacity of 2,320 MWh.
To date, ACME Solar has secured PPAs for a cumulative total of 5,380 MW, solidifying its position as a major player in the Indian renewable energy sector and reinforcing its commitment to advancing the nation’s transition to clean, reliable energy.
