Advait Battery Ecosystem Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Advait Energy Transitions Ltd, has entered into a Master Supply Agreement (MSA) with HiTHIUM for the supply of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) prismatic battery cells. Under the agreement, Advait can procure up to 1 GWh of battery cells over the next 12 months.
The agreement covers 314 Ah LFP prismatic cells, which will be used for Advait’s planned battery energy storage system (BESS) operations in India. The cells are intended to support the company’s upcoming 2.5 GWh annual-capacity cell-to-container BESS assembly facility at Gangad in Gujarat.
The Gangad facility is being developed to manufacture and integrate battery storage systems for utility-scale projects, commercial and industrial applications, and renewable energy integration. The facility is expected to commence commercial production shortly.
As part of its planned BESS manufacturing capabilities, Advait is developing an integrated process covering module and pack assembly, container integration, energy management systems (EMS), and system commissioning. The HiTHIUM agreement adds a dedicated battery cell supply arrangement to this planned value chain.
Advait Battery Ecosystem has also established a strategic collaboration with Adaptive Engineering. The partnership is focused on engineering design, EMS architecture, PLC/SCADA solutions and system integration capabilities for battery storage projects.
The supply agreement is expected to provide Advait with access to high-volume LFP cells as its Gangad facility moves toward commercial operations. The 1 GWh offtake arrangement will support the company’s planned domestic BESS activities and its efforts to build a broader battery storage supply chain in India.
The company’s 2.5 GWh annual BESS assembly capacity is intended to serve the growing demand for energy storage systems across renewable energy and other applications. Through partnerships covering battery cells, engineering, system integration and storage technologies, Advait is developing capabilities across multiple stages of the BESS value chain.
The HiTHIUM agreement therefore forms part of Advait’s wider strategy to establish an integrated domestic BESS ecosystem, with the Gangad facility positioned to support the deployment of large-scale and commercial energy storage systems in the Indian market.
