Atul Greentech Teams Up with Amara Raja for EV Battery

Atul Greentech, a subsidiary of mobility solutions provider Atul Auto, has entered into a strategic partnership with energy major Amara Raja to co-develop and supply battery packs and chargers for electric vehicles. As part of the collaboration, both companies will work together on the development of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery packs and associated charging systems tailored for EV applications. The partnership also includes plans to co-develop advanced cell technologies, aligning with the national goal of achieving self-reliance in manufacturing under the “Atma Nirbhar Bharat” initiative.

A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) formalizing this collaboration has been signed between Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies (ARACT)—a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (ARE&M)—Atul Greentech Private Limited, and Amara Raja Power Systems Limited. The agreement was signed in Ahmedabad. Under this agreement, battery packs for Atul Greentech’s electric three-wheelers will be produced at Amara Raja’s advanced Giga Corridor manufacturing facility in Divitipalli, Telangana.

Commenting on the development, Vijay Kedia, Director of Atul Auto Limited, said “Our partnership with Amara Raja has always been rooted in mutual growth. With this next step, we are well-positioned to accelerate our journey in the EV space as India embraces cleaner mobility options.”

Vijayanand Samudrala, President – New Energy at Amara Raja Energy & Mobility, added:

“We are committed to playing a leading role in India’s energy shift. This agreement strengthens our ongoing efforts to expand our portfolio and contribute to the country’s sustainable mobility ecosystem.”

Atul Greentech Private Limited is the electric mobility arm of Atul Auto Limited, one of India’s leading manufacturers of three-wheelers. Focused on advancing sustainable transportation, Atul Greentech is committed to delivering innovative electric vehicles designed for Indian road and usage conditions.

With a strong foundation in automotive engineering and a growing EV portfolio, the company is driving the shift toward eco-friendly mobility solutions. Its efforts are aligned with national priorities like clean energy adoption and self-reliant manufacturing, positioning Atul Greentech as a key player in the country’s evolving electric vehicle landscape.

Amara Raja is a prominent name in the Indian energy and mobility sector, known for its leadership in battery manufacturing and power solutions. Through its flagship entities like Amara Raja Batteries and Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (ARE&M), the group serves a broad spectrum of industries including automotive, telecom, industrial, and renewable energy.

With a focus on innovation and sustainability, Amara Raja is expanding its presence in advanced cell technologies, electric mobility, and energy storage systems. The company’s commitment to supporting India’s energy transition is evident in its investments in next-generation manufacturing facilities and strategic partnerships aimed at shaping the future of clean energy.
