August Energy has appointed Ravi Shaw as Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Generation, as the company strengthens its leadership team and expands its renewable energy operations across India and Southeast Asia. Shaw brings more than 17 years of experience in Asia’s renewable energy sector, having worked across the development and scaling of solar, wind, hybrid and energy storage projects. Over the course of his career, he has contributed to projects with a combined capacity of more than 5 GW, spanning multiple clean energy technologies.
According to the company, Shaw also played a key role in delivering India’s largest round-the-clock (RTC) captive renewable energy platform, a 1.3 GW project representing an investment of more than US$700 million. The project combines renewable energy generation and supporting infrastructure to provide a reliable and continuous clean power supply.
In his new role, Ravi Shaw will lead August Energy’s Generation business as the company expands its presence across India and Southeast Asia. His responsibilities will include supporting the development and execution of renewable energy projects and helping accelerate the company’s growth across the clean energy sector.
The appointment comes amid increasing demand for renewable power and energy storage solutions across the region. The growth of solar and wind capacity, coupled with the need for round-the-clock renewable electricity, is driving greater adoption of hybrid projects, energy storage systems and other integrated clean energy solutions.
With his experience across renewable generation and energy storage projects, Ravi Shaw is expected to contribute to August Energy’s efforts to scale its generation portfolio and support the broader transition towards cleaner energy across key Asian markets
