Suzlon Secures 201.6 MW Wind Order From Waaree for Andhra Pradesh Project

Suzlon Energy has secured a 201.6 MW order from Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited (WFEPL), the Independent Power Producer (IPP) arm of Waaree Group, to develop the company’s maiden wind energy project in Andhra Pradesh. Under the order, Suzlon will install 64 units of its S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW. The project will be developed in Andhra Pradesh and will mark Waaree Forever Energies’ entry into the state’s wind energy market.

Suzlon will provide an end-to-end Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) solution for the project. The scope includes land acquisition, wind turbine supply, Balance of Plant (BoP) works, project commissioning, and long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) services. The project will be executed under Suzlon’s DevCo model, which is aimed at expanding its role from wind turbine manufacturing to integrated renewable energy project development and execution.

The order further strengthens the relationship between the two renewable energy companies as Waaree expands its presence beyond solar power generation. Waaree Group has been increasing its focus on renewable energy through its IPP arm, with wind power emerging as an important part of its clean energy portfolio.

Earlier in February 2026, Waaree Forever Energies received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for developing a 300 MW wind power project in Dwarka, Gujarat. The company subsequently signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SECI, effective from the scheduled Commencement of Supply Date.

The Gujarat project was awarded under SECI’s competitive wind power procurement process, with Waaree Forever Energies emerging as the successful bidder at a tariff of ₹3.68 per kWh.

The latest Andhra Pradesh project highlights the growing adoption of integrated project execution models in India’s renewable energy sector. Under the DevCo approach, developers can access a broader range of services covering project development, infrastructure, equipment supply, commissioning, and long-term asset operations. Such models can help streamline execution, manage project development risks, and support the faster scaling of renewable energy capacity.

Commenting on the partnership, Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, said, “Waaree and Suzlon have been trailblazers in solar and wind, respectively, each building world-class manufacturing ecosystems and establishing a strong global presence. As both evolve into integrated renewable energy leaders, this partnership reflects the industry’s future—where customers seek integrated solutions rather than standalone technologies, and where the DevCo business model is gaining strong momentum.”

The 201.6 MW order adds to Suzlon’s growing project pipeline and comes as India accelerates the deployment of wind and hybrid renewable energy capacity to meet its clean energy targets. For Waaree, the project represents another step in diversifying its renewable energy generation portfolio and expanding its presence in the wind power segment
