Belding India Ltd has incorporated a new joint venture company, Belding HD India Private Limited, to tap opportunities in renewable energy and battery energy storage. The company, in partnership with HD Fabcon Private Limited, incorporated the JV on June 22, 2026, with Belding India holding a 55 percent stake. The move comes as demand for battery storage projects continues to rise across India.
According to a regulatory filing, the newly formed company – Belding HD India Private Limited will focus on identifying and executing opportunities in renewable energy projects and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). HD Fabcon will hold the remaining 45 percent stake in the venture.
India’s energy storage sector has been gaining momentum over the past few years as the country scales up renewable energy capacity. With solar and wind installations growing rapidly, battery storage is increasingly being seen as a critical technology for balancing intermittent renewable power and ensuring round-the-clock electricity supply.
The timing of the joint venture is significant. The government has been actively promoting energy storage through viability gap funding schemes and policy support. Central agencies such as SECI and NTPC, along with several state utilities, have floated large-scale storage tenders in recent months, creating fresh opportunities for companies operating in this space.
Belding India said the joint venture will combine the strengths of both partners. While HD Fabcon is expected to support business development activities, Belding India will bring its project execution and operational expertise to the partnership.
The company has subscribed to 5,500 equity shares of ₹10 each in the joint venture through cash consideration, amounting to an initial investment of ₹55,000.
Industry observers believe that strategic partnerships such as this could become increasingly common as companies look to establish an early presence in India’s fast-expanding battery storage market.
With India expected to add significant battery storage capacity over the next decade, the new venture could help Belding India strengthen its presence in the country’s clean energy ecosystem.
