Pace Digitek’s material subsidiary, Lineage Power Private Limited, has secured a ₹92.93 crore contract from Kalpa Power Private Limited for the supply and commissioning of a 100 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
The contract, which includes GST, follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two companies in July 2026 and converts the earlier strategic agreement into a formal commercial order. The project is scheduled for completion by December 31, 2026.
Under the agreement, Lineage Power will be responsible for supplying the BESS and providing technical commissioning support. The order adds to Pace Digitek’s growing presence in India’s energy storage market as demand for grid-scale battery systems increases alongside the expansion of renewable energy capacity.
Order Supports Expanded BESS Manufacturing
The Kalpa Power order comes shortly after Pace Digitek expanded its domestic BESS manufacturing capacity. The company commissioned a second 2.5 GWh production line in Bengaluru on August 4, 2026, taking its cumulative manufacturing capacity to 5 GWh.
The expanded production capacity is expected to provide additional support for the company’s growing BESS project pipeline. Lineage Power has also manufactured more than 300 utility-scale BESS containers, representing approximately 1.5 GWh of storage capacity, according to the company’s recent disclosures.
The latest contract provides an opportunity to utilise the expanded manufacturing infrastructure for a utility-scale storage project, while strengthening the company’s position in India’s developing BESS ecosystem.
Growing Focus on Energy Storage
India’s increasing renewable energy capacity is driving demand for battery storage solutions capable of addressing intermittency, improving grid flexibility and supporting reliable power delivery. Utility-scale BESS projects are expected to play an increasingly important role as the share of solar and wind power in the electricity mix grows.
For Pace Digitek, the Kalpa Power award strengthens its transition toward energy infrastructure and energy storage alongside its established telecom and EPC activities. The company is focusing on BESS manufacturing, system integration and deployment to address the growing domestic market.
In June 2026, Pace Digitek also entered into a 3 GWh master supply agreement for lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery cells with Guangzhou Rongjie Energy Technology. The agreement is intended to support the company’s requirements for battery energy storage projects.
The combination of expanded manufacturing capacity, battery-cell sourcing and utility-scale project orders could allow the company to increase its participation in India’s rapidly developing energy storage market.
With the 100 MWh Kalpa Power project targeted for completion by the end of 2026, execution will be a key milestone for Lineage Power. The order also highlights the growing scale of commercial BESS deployments in India and the increasing role of domestic manufacturers in supplying energy storage infrastructure for the country’s evolving power system.
