Bijliride, India’s leading SaaS-powered electric two-wheeler rental platform, has announced the launch of its Franchise-Owned, Franchise-Operated (FOFO) expansion model, marking a major step toward democratizing electric vehicle (EV) entrepreneurship in the country. Under this new strategy, the company plans to expand its operations to Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi NCR, while onboarding over 20 franchise partners and deploying 5,000 electric two-wheelers by FY2026.
Empowering Local Entrepreneurs
The FOFO model is designed to enable local entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and mobility operators to participate actively in India’s clean mobility ecosystem. The initiative allows Bijliride to scale in a capital-efficient and community-driven manner, while franchise partners benefit from operational, branding, and marketing support.
Franchisees will have access to Bijliride’s proprietary fleet management and SaaS technology, along with partnerships with OEMs and financial institutions to streamline vehicle procurement and financing. The business structure follows a 70:30 profit-sharing model, ensuring shared growth. Franchisees are required to invest ₹14–16 lakh for an initial fleet of 50 vehicles, with breakeven expected within 13 months of stable operations.
CEO’s Vision
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Shivam Sisodiya, CEO and Co-Founder of Bijliride, said:
“Our goal has always been to make electric mobility scalable, profitable, and inclusive. This franchise model allows local business owners to become direct participants in the EV revolution, supported by our technology, operational expertise, and brand credibility. We believe this will empower entrepreneurs while accelerating India’s transition to clean mobility.”
Existing Operations and Future Goals
Founded in 2020, Bijliride currently operates a fleet of over 4,000 electric vehicles across major Indian cities, serving both individual commuters and enterprise clients. The platform offers 24/7 battery swapping, on-road assistance, and enterprise fleet management solutions, addressing urban challenges such as air pollution and rising transportation costs.
Through its franchise-led growth strategy, Bijliride aims to build a decentralized and sustainable urban mobility network, targeting one million users by 2030 and playing a pivotal role in shaping India’s electric mobility future.
