On February 3, Cornex signed a strategic agreement to supply 5.5 GWh of energy storage products to Saudi Arabia. The deal was signed in Dammam with Al Rajhi Electrical, in partnership with Shanghai Greengrid. Under the agreement, Cornex will deliver lithium battery systems over the next three years and also provide technical support to help set up local manufacturing facilities in Saudi Arabia.
Shanghai Greengrid will support the project by managing supply chain activities, cross-border coordination, and on-ground implementation. The collaboration aims to speed up the localisation of energy storage systems and support changes in the region’s energy structure.
Al Rajhi Electrical, a subsidiary of the Al Rajhi Group and a major shareholder in ACWA Power, brings strong financial backing and local operational experience to the project.
Earlier, on January 16, Cornex signed another agreement to supply 6 GWh of energy storage products to Egypt. This project involves local partners WeaCan and Kemet. WeaCan will handle government approvals, grid connections, and local operations, while Kemet will support project execution and technical work.
Cornex said these agreements highlight its growing presence in the Middle East and Africa. The company currently supplies battery products to more than 60 countries worldwide. In his 2026 New Year message, Chairman Dai Deming shared that Cornex shipped over 90 GWh in 2025 and plans to roll out more than 300 GWh of production capacity in 2026 across its four major manufacturing bases.
