Cosmic PV Power Receives Key Approval for 1.10 GW Solar Cell Manufacturing Plant in Madhya Pradesh

Cosmic PV Power Limited has achieved a major milestone in its expansion plans with the receipt of the Consent to Establish (CTE) approval for its proposed 1.10 GW solar cell manufacturing plant in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh. The approval marks an important step forward in the execution of the project and reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting India’s clean energy transition.

The new manufacturing facility will be set up on 60 acres of land, taken on lease for 99 years, and is expected to give a big boost to India’s domestic solar manufacturing capacities. The project is also expected to create jobs in the region and improve the country’s renewable energy infrastructure.

The facility is expected to commence commercial operations in FY 2027-28, representing the next step in Cosmic PV Power’s long-term growth strategy in the fast-growing renewable energy segment in India.

The company intends to manufacture solar cells with TOPCon technology, which is renowned for its high efficiency and performance in advanced photovoltaic applications. With this technology, Cosmic PV Power aims to play a significant role in strengthening India’s burgeoning solar manufacturing ecosystem and meeting the country’s growing demand for high-quality, domestically manufactured solar components.

The project aligns with the company’s larger vision of helping India realise its renewable energy ambitions and pushing the country towards energy independence and net-zero emissions. Cosmic PV Power Limited continues to invest in advanced manufacturing capabilities to support the sustainable growth of clean energy in India.

Prior to this, Cosmic PV Power Limited has strengthened its position in India’s solar manufacturing sector after expanding its approved module manufacturing capacity under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-I to 3.15 GW. The approval increased the company’s ALMM-listed capacity from 1,302 MW to 3,150 MW, following the addition of 1,848 MW of annual solar PV module manufacturing capacity at its Mandvi, Tadkeshwar, and Surat facilities in Gujarat. The expansion also supports the company’s focus on advanced bifacial N-Type TOPCon solar PV modules, reinforcing its growing presence in India’s renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem.

Cosmic PV Power Limited is an Indian renewable energy company focused on strengthening the country’s solar manufacturing ecosystem through advanced photovoltaic technologies. With a strong emphasis on innovation, domestic manufacturing, and sustainable growth, Cosmic PV Power is committed to supporting India’s clean energy transition, enhancing self-reliance in solar manufacturing, creating employment opportunities, and contributing to the nation’s energy independence and net-zero emissions goals.
