As the Milan 2026 Winter events begin, Segway has partnered with Dott to roll out a large fleet of shared e-bikes across the city. Segway is supplying its Urban A200 model to Dott, a leading European shared micromobility operator, to ensure sustainable and efficient transportation for athletes, visitors, and residents.
With approval to operate 5,000 shared e-bikes during the events, Dott has fully transitioned its Milan fleet to the Segway Urban A200. This large deployment positions both companies as important contributors to Milan’s green mobility efforts during the international event.
Segway Urban A200: Built for High-Volume Use
The Urban A200 e-bike that was shown in Milan is the result of years of feedback from users, operational experience, and cooperation between Dott and Segway. The model is designed to run a large fleet and has better comfort, stability, and control when riding.
The upgraded battery system delivers dependable daily performance, supporting higher usage rates and improving the chances that riders will find fully charged bikes available. The bike also features a “one-size-fits-most” frame to accommodate riders of different heights.
“The Urban A200 represents a major milestone in shared e-bike technology,” said Zack Yan, Vice General Manager of the Commercial Mobility Division at Segway. “Working closely with Dott, we’ve developed a vehicle that not only meets the rigorous demands of shared fleet operations but also enhances the rider experience in meaningful ways. From integrated phone charging to extended battery capacity, every feature was designed with real-world usage in mind. Seeing our bikes supporting mobility during the events validates our commitment to building micromobility solutions that cities and operators can rely on during their most critical moments.”
Expansion Beyond Milan
The collaboration also extends to Verona, host of the Closing Ceremony. Dott is the exclusive e-bike provider in the city, operating a fleet entirely powered by Segway technology.
Champion Pass for Affordable Travel
To encourage wider adoption, Dott has introduced the “Champion Pass,” available via its app for €2.99 per month. It offers unlimited rides, with the first five minutes priced at €0.75 and a discounted rate of €0.10 per minute thereafter.
“Our mission has always been to change mobility for good,” said Andrea Giaretta, Vice-President of Revenues at Dott. “By introducing the Segway Urban A200 and the Champion Pass simultaneously, we are making travel more efficient for Milanese residents and the many tourists expected in the city. We’re reducing congestion, supporting public transport, and offering a practical option for quickly connecting key points of interest without resorting to private vehicles.”
