Euler Motors has now ventured into the electric passenger mobility market with the introduction of NEO by Euler, a new brand that will serve its portfolio of commercial passenger vehicles. The first product the company released under the name was the NEO HiRANGE, a three-wheeler all-electric auto-rickshaw priced at an introductory price of 309,999.
The vehicle will be tailored to meet urban last-mile passenger transportation requirements and is aimed at drivers, fleet operators, and ride-hailing services. According to Euler Motors, the model will seek to balance range, durability, and low operating costs in an attempt to achieve a range of up to 200+ km in real-world conditions on a single charge.
There are three versions of the NEO HiRANGE: the MAXX, the PLUS, and the standard version, with ARAI-qualified ranges of 171 km to 261 km. The highest model is equipped with a 13.44 kWh lithium-ion battery, a 9 kW motor, and can charge in 3.25 hours (10% to 80%). It also provides other functionalities that include hill assist, real-time diagnostics, anti-theft GPS, and a warranty of up to 6 years or 1.75 lakh kilometers.
The vehicle is designed with an Indian road setting in mind, being based on a skateboard chassis and tuned to two driving modes: ECO and THUNDER, with top speeds of 43 km/h to 60 km/h depending on the variant.
It was announced that Euler Motors, which started in 2018 and had been working on electric freight vehicles, was expanding strategically into passenger transport. The company will also launch NEO with Euler vehicles in 50 Indian cities over the next three to four months.
Saurav Kumar, Founder and CEO of Euler Motors, “Drivers face challenges every day—from long fuel queues and high maintenance costs to passenger discomfort and low savings. With ‘NEO by Euler,’ we have built a no-compromise EV that offers the highest range in a single charge, reliable earnings for drivers, and better comfort for passengers.”
The decision of relocation takes place against the background of the rise of demand to possess sustainable urban transport solutions. Auto-rickshaws take up close to 20 percent of daily commuting in large Indian cities, and the company hopes that its new product will help it deal with the long-term issues related to reliability, maintenance, and driver incomes.
There were no additional pricing or model specifications revealed in addition to the initial launch variant.
