Ganesh Green Bharat Ltd (GGBL), a solar module manufacturer and EPC company, is increasingly evolving into an integrated clean energy solutions provider, with battery energy storage systems (BESS) emerging as its fastest-growing business vertical. According to the company’s latest investor presentation, BESS projects account for ₹1,510 crore of its total unexecuted order book of ₹2,212.91 crore, reflecting a significant strategic shift beyond conventional solar manufacturing and EPC operations.
The company is strengthening its position in the clean energy value chain by integrating solar generation with storage solutions. It currently operates a 1.1 GW solar module manufacturing facility and plans to expand capacity to 2 GW by 2027. This expansion is aligned with its broader strategy to offer end-to-end clean energy solutions that combine solar power generation, storage, and project execution under a unified platform.
The rising deployment of renewable energy across India is driving strong demand for storage infrastructure to manage intermittency and ensure round-the-clock power supply. Battery energy storage systems are increasingly seen as a critical component in converting solar power into a dispatchable energy source that can deliver electricity when required by the grid, rather than only during sunlight hours.
Ganesh Green’s entry into the BESS segment is viewed as a natural extension of its existing strengths in solar manufacturing and EPC delivery. The company is focusing on leveraging its integrated business model to serve customers with combined solar and storage solutions, rather than operating in isolated segments of the renewable energy market.
The company is also adopting a selective diversification strategy, ensuring that expansion into adjacent sectors is driven by customer requirements, technological readiness, and execution capability, rather than broader market trends.
With India targeting 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, integrated renewable energy solutions combining solar and storage are expected to play a key role in the country’s energy transition. Industry observers indicate that the scale of Ganesh Green’s BESS pipeline highlights its transition toward becoming a broader energy infrastructure player, as battery storage rapidly becomes central to India’s clean energy future.
