The industry body, India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), has called on the government to simplify regulations, promote innovation, and encourage collaboration between industry and policymakers to develop a circular battery economy.
IESA stated that India’s battery recycling sector has reached a crucial juncture, driven by progressive policy incentives, regulatory changes, and rapid technological advancements.
According to the IMARC Group, the market was valued at USD 554.4 million in 2024 and is projected to more than double to USD 1,304.1 million by 2033, representing a CAGR of 8.93% from 2025 to 2033, highlighting the nation’s strong commitment to a sustainable, circular battery ecosystem in line with its clean energy goals.
