The Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) is participating as a knowledge partner at the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit (BRES) 2026, India’s flagship renewable energy event being held in New Delhi from November 2 to 5. During the summit, IWTMA is facilitating industry-focused discussions on key priorities for India’s wind energy sector, bringing together policymakers and industry stakeholders to explore strategies for accelerating wind energy deployment, strengthening domestic manufacturing, and enhancing India’s competitiveness in global wind markets.
The summit, inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modiji, brings together over 75,000 participants from 130+ countries. The event features 400+ exhibitors, 500+ speakers across 80+ curated sessions, and the support of 25+ knowledge partners.
A key highlight of the summit will be the Wind Plenary on Wednesday, November 4. Curated by IWTMA for the wind industry ecosystem, the panel discussion will bring together eminent policymakers, industry leaders, and subject-matter experts.
Participants will include Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, and Santosh Sarangi, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), joined by apex industry leader Girish R. Tanti, Executive Vice-Chairman and Co-founder, Suzlon Energy.
“India stands as a beacon in the global renewable energy transition, with wind energy a cornerstone of Aatmanirbharta, strengthening domestic manufacturing, technological capabilities, and energy security. As MNRE’s Knowledge Partner for the wind industry at the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit 2026, IWTMA is hosting three high-level panel discussions alongside the Wind Plenary Session. These discussions bring together government and industry leaders to chart actionable pathways for accelerating deployment, deepening localization, and positioning India as a global hub for wind energy manufacturing and innovation,” said Aditya Pyasi, CEO, Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association.
IWTMA was also associated with discussions on “Repowering India’s Aging Wind Fleet”, as well as “Strengthening Wind Energy Manufacturing Ecosystem in India” and “Wind Turbine Technologies for Indian Conditions” on November 4. These sessions address key aspects of India’s wind energy ecosystem across manufacturing, asset optimization, and technology development, featuring senior industry and government representatives including Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairperson, CEA; Rajesh Kulhari, Joint Secretary, MNRE; Ajay Kapur, Group CEO, Suzlon Group; Dr. Saravanan Manickam, Vice Chairman, IWTMA and Country Head and MD, Nordex India; RPV Prasad, MD, Envision Energy; Ms. Rebecca Williams, Deputy CEO, GWEC, and other industry leaders.
IWTMA will also represent the wind industry in roundtables such as “The 2 Terawatt Horizon: Scaling Wind Power for Global Energy Security” and “From Mines to Modules to Molecules: Building India’s Global Cleantech Manufacturing Edge” on November 5.
With India targeting 100 GW of wind capacity by 2030 and an annual wind turbine manufacturing capacity of approximately 24 GW, BRES 2026 provides a platform to deliberate on the policy and industry interventions needed to accelerate deployment, strengthen supply-chain resilience, and position India as a competitive global hub for wind manufacturing and exports.
Established in 1998, the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) is India’s leading knowledge-based advocacy platform and the collective voice of the wind energy industry. IWTMA works closely with Central and State Governments, policymakers, industry, investors and other stakeholders to shape policy, regulatory and market frameworks that enable the growth of wind energy in India. Over more than 25 years, IWTMA has played a key role in advancing the wind sector through industry knowledge, policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement, supporting India’s transition towards a cleaner, more secure and sustainable energy future.
