JSW Energy Ltd has promoted Prabhjit Singh Samra to Associate Vice President, recognising his extensive experience in the power and energy sector. Samra brings nearly three decades of professional experience across power project execution, business development, power sales, regulatory affairs, construction management and plant operations.
Before his promotion, Samra served as General Manager at JSW Mahanadi Power Company Limited. In this role, he handled responsibilities related to business development, power sales, regulatory coordination, customer relationship management, energy billing and power market operations.
Extensive Experience in Power Sector Operations
Samra has more than 29 years of experience across several areas of the power industry, including project execution, operations and maintenance, procurement, contractor coordination and stakeholder management. His experience spans different stages of power project development and operations.
Before joining his previous role at JSW Mahanadi Power Company Limited, he spent nearly eight years as Deputy General Manager at KSK Mahanadi Power Company Limited. During this period, he worked on project and construction management, equipment commissioning, procurement, contractor coordination and operational planning. He has also worked with Tata Steel BSL Limited, adding to his experience in the industrial and power sectors.
Career Progression at JSW Energy
Samra’s elevation to Associate Vice President marks another step in his career within the power industry. His background in power sales, regulatory matters, project execution and operational management provides experience across both the commercial and technical aspects of the sector.
The appointment comes as power companies continue to manage changing electricity market requirements, regulatory frameworks and operational priorities. Samra’s expanded role at JSW Energy builds on his experience in power generation, business development and stakeholder management.
