LONGi and Enexus Sign 50 MWh BESS Deal for Solar-Storage Projects in Romania

LONGi and Romanian renewable energy developer Enexus have signed an agreement for the supply of 50 MWh of liquid-cooled battery energy storage systems (BESS) for two solar-plus-storage projects in Titu, Dâmbovița County, Romania.

The agreement marks Enexus’s first procurement of LONGi’s BESS technology and represents one of LONGi’s largest utility-scale energy storage contracts in Romania and Europe. The deal also expands an existing partnership between the two companies, under which Enexus has deployed more than 200 MW of LONGi solar PV modules across its portfolio since 2025.

The battery systems will be installed at two hybrid renewable energy projects designed to provide capacity firming, energy shifting and ancillary grid services.

Titu 1: The completed 20 MWp solar park will be equipped with a 15 MW BESS. The project, co-developed with Akış Enerji, a subsidiary of Ulusoy Enerji Yatırımları A.Ş., is currently awaiting final grid connection.

Titu 3: The 35 MW solar PV project will be paired with a 35 MW BESS and is currently under development for FTZ Group.

The combined 50 MWh storage capacity will use 10 units of LONGi’s liquid-cooled utility-scale BESS technology. The systems will be paired with factory-integrated medium-voltage (MV) skid systems, with the aim of reducing balance-of-plant costs and simplifying on-site commissioning.

“The next phase of the global energy transition demands a total departure from fragmented, multi-vendor systems,” said Dennis She, Vice President of LONGi and President of LONGi Energy Storage. “By combining our generation technology with fully integrated BESS architectures, we offer one coordinated, grid-ready ecosystem.”

Romania’s growing renewable energy capacity is increasing the need for flexible storage solutions. The country’s updated National Energy and Climate Plan targets approximately 5.8 GW of utility-scale solar capacity and 2.5 GW of rooftop solar by 2030. Battery storage is expected to play an increasingly important role in managing solar intermittency, shifting energy production and supporting grid stability.

“Integrating BESS in PV project design is a strategic direction we outlined since last year,” said Mesut Güler, Founder and CEO of Enexus. “LONGi entrusting us with one of its largest BESS projects in Romania so far is a clear signal of the trust and technical alignment behind this partnership.”

The agreement strengthens LONGi’s presence in Romania’s rapidly developing energy storage market while supporting Enexus’s strategy of integrating battery storage into its growing solar PV portfolio.
