GAIL (India) Limited has announced the appointment of Manoj Kumar Sharma as Director (Projects), marking a new leadership addition to the company’s project and infrastructure operations.
Sharma brings more than three decades of experience across the hydrocarbon infrastructure value chain, with expertise spanning design and engineering, project management, procurement, construction management, operations and maintenance, business development, operational excellence, and cost optimisation.
Before joining GAIL as Director (Projects), Sharma served as Executive Director and Regional Head, Eastern Region Pipelines, at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). In this role, he was responsible for operations and maintenance, construction, and City Gas Distribution (CGD) businesses across five states. He also oversaw a pipeline network extending more than 5,700 km.
His extensive experience in project execution, infrastructure management, and leadership is expected to support GAIL’s ongoing projects and infrastructure expansion. His background in board-level governance, innovation, and emerging energy initiatives is also expected to contribute to the company’s efforts to adapt to the changing energy landscape.
