NTPC Executive Director Sameer Sharma has assumed charge as Head of Project at NTPC Dadri, bringing more than 38 years of experience across power-sector operations, project management, technical functions and corporate leadership.
Sharma assumed charge of the position on October 5, 2026. He joined NTPC on August 24, 1988, as an Executive Trainee and has since held several responsibilities across the organisation, eventually rising to the position of Executive Director.
He holds a B.E. in Electronics Engineering from Ravi Shankar University, Raipur, which he completed in 1988. He later pursued an M.Tech. in Management & Systems from IIT Delhi, where he completed the programme with academic distinction.
Sharma began his career in the Control & Instrumentation (C&I) function and subsequently gained experience in Maintenance, Operations and Maintenance (O&M), project management, corporate functions and Information Technology (IT).
During his career with NTPC, he has served at several major power establishments, including Vindhyachal, Barauni and Simhadri. His experience at these stations provided exposure to large-scale power generation operations and project management.
At Simhadri, Sharma served as Head of Project, gaining experience in project execution and power-plant operations. He later moved to NTPC’s Corporate Centre in Noida, where he led the IT function and expanded his experience in corporate operations.
With extensive experience across power stations, project management and corporate functions, Sharma brings a broad technical and managerial background to his new role at NTPC Dadri.
His appointment is expected to support operational performance, safety, teamwork and project execution at the power station, while contributing to NTPC Dadri’s ongoing operational and organisational objectives.
NTPC Dadri, also known as the National Capital Power Station (NCPS), is a major operational power generation complex located in the Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Commissioned in 1991, the 500-acre facility supplies electricity primarily to the National Capital Region (NCR) and neighboring states
