NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has commissioned the first 81.34 MW capacity of the Kalasar Solar Energy Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, taking the company’s total installed capacity to 11,058.57 MW. The capacity was declared commercially operational with effect from September 26, 2026.
The newly commissioned capacity is part of the 650 MW solar component of the 500 MW REMCL Round-the-Clock (RTC) Project being developed through NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy.
81.34 MW Capacity Added at Bikaner
The first part of the Kalasar Solar Energy Project, with a capacity of 81.34 MW, was declared commercially operational from 00:00 hours on September 26, 2026. The project is located in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
Following the commissioning, the NTPC Green Energy group’s current commercial capacity stands at 10,977.23 MW, while its total installed capacity has increased to 11,058.57 MW.
Part of 650 MW Solar Component
The Kalasar Solar Energy Project forms part of the 650 MW solar component associated with the 500 MW REMCL RTC Project. The project is being executed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited through the NTPC Green Energy group.
The commissioning is one of the recent capacity additions reported by NTPC Green Energy. The company had also announced the commercial operation of solar and wind project capacities in Gujarat during September 2026.
Capacity Crosses 11 GW
With the addition of the 81.34 MW Kalasar capacity, NTPC Green Energy’s total installed capacity has crossed the 11 GW mark, reaching 11,058.57 MW.
The company’s commercial capacity, which refers to capacity declared commercially operational, stands at 10,977.23 MW following the latest commissioning.
The latest project disclosure was reported by NTPC as a commercial operation declaration for the first part capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Kalasar Solar Project under the 650 MW solar component of the REMCL RTC Project.
