NTPC Green Q1 Profit Jumps 38% YoY; Revenue Surges 63% to Rs. 1,107 Cr

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), the renewable energy arm of NTPC Limited, has reported a strong financial performance for the quarter ended June 2026, with NTPC Green Profit rising 38.26% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs. 304.84 crore, while consolidated revenue from operations increased 62.72% YoY to Rs. 1,106.86 crore, compared with Rs. 680.21 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. On a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis, revenue increased 21.28% from Rs. 912.63 crore in the March 2026 quarter.

The company’s profitability also improved significantly during the quarter. NTPC Green reported a net profit of Rs. 304.84 crore for June 2026, marking a 38.26% YoY increase from Rs. 220.48 crore in June 2025. Sequentially, net profit surged 54.61% from Rs. 197.17 crore recorded in the March 2026 quarter.

The latest results reflect a strong recovery in NGEL’s financial performance following a relatively weak December 2025 quarter. For the quarter ended December 2025, the company had reported revenue from operations of Rs. 635.29 crore, up 25.8% YoY from Rs. 505.08 crore and 3.8% QoQ from Rs. 612.29 crore. However, net profit had declined sharply to Rs. 17.32 crore, compared with Rs. 65.61 crore in the year-ago quarter and Rs. 86.38 crore in the September 2025 quarter.

The company had attributed the decline in profitability during the December quarter primarily to the absence of interest income from IPO proceeds, which had supported earnings in earlier periods. Since then, NGEL has witnessed a significant improvement in its bottom line, with NTPC Green Profit in the June 2026 quarter marking a substantial sequential and annual recovery.

For the full financial year FY26, NTPC Green Energy reported a consolidated net profit of Rs. 521 crore. The company’s Q4 FY26 net profit stood at around Rs. 197 crore, a sharp recovery from Rs. 17 crore in Q3 FY26. However, the Q4 FY26 profit remained below the Rs. 233 crore reported in Q4 FY25, indicating that the latest quarterly performance represents a strong sequential recovery alongside continued year-on-year improvement in the June quarter.

The latest financial results come as NGEL continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio and strengthen its position in India’s clean energy transition. The company’s growing revenue base and improving profitability are expected to support its ongoing investments in renewable power generation and related clean energy infrastructure.
