Oyster Renewable Commissions 52.8 MW Gujarat Wind Project for Jindal Stainless

Oyster Renewable Gujarat project has reached a key milestone with the commissioning of 52.8 MW of wind power capacity at Dayapar, Gujarat, for Jindal Stainless. Commercial operations for the project commenced on July 30, 2026, marking the company’s entry into Gujarat’s renewable energy market and strengthening its presence in India’s clean energy sector.

The newly commissioned capacity comprises 16 wind turbines and represents the second phase of a planned 99 MW wind project in Gujarat. The project forms part of a larger 315.6 MW solar-wind hybrid development being executed by Oyster Renewable for Jindal Stainless to support its decarbonisation and sustainable energy goals.

The hybrid project includes 216 MW of renewable energy capacity in Madhya Pradesh and 99 MW in Gujarat. Oyster Renewable has invested approximately ₹385 crore in the 16 commissioned turbines, while the complete 30-turbine Gujarat wind facility will involve a total investment of around ₹725 crore. Overall, the integrated hybrid project is backed by investments exceeding ₹2,000 crore, including ₹132 crore from Jindal Stainless.

According to the company, the project has received compliance certification under the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission’s (CERC) Indian Electricity Grid Code, 2023, along with the Central Electricity Authority’s (CEA) standards covering connectivity, communication and safety, ensuring adherence to national grid requirements.

Once fully operational, the 99 MW Gujarat wind project is expected to avoid nearly 92,000 metric tonnes of carbon emissions annually, contributing to cleaner industrial power consumption and supporting India’s renewable energy transition.

Oyster Renewable said the remaining 14 wind turbines will be commissioned in phases, taking the Gujarat facility to its full planned capacity. The project also aligns with the company’s broader strategy of expanding its renewable energy portfolio, with a target of developing a 3.5 GW project pipeline across India.
