Power Mech Projects has secured a ₹279.20 crore operations and maintenance (O&M) contract from Telangana Power Generation Corporation Limited (TGGENCO) for the Yadadri Thermal Power Station in Telangana. The domestic order has an execution period of 36 months and covers the operation and maintenance of key ash and coal handling infrastructure at the thermal power plant.
Under the contract, Power Mech Projects will undertake O&M activities for the ash handling plants of Stage-I, covering Units 1 and 2, as well as Stage-II, covering Units 3, 4 and 5. The scope also includes the complete coal handling plant of the 5×800 MW Yadadri Thermal Power Station. The contract involves activities associated with mechanical, electrical, and control and instrumentation systems across the specified facilities.
The Yadadri Thermal Power Station has an overall capacity of 4,000 MW and consists of five units, each with a generation capacity of 800 MW. The O&M contract covers infrastructure that supports the handling and movement of coal and ash associated with the plant’s generation operations.
The order adds to Power Mech Projects’ recent additions to its O&M business. In September 2026, the company secured a ₹970 crore O&M contract from Vedanta Power Limited for the 2×600 MW Sakti Thermal Power Plant in Chhattisgarh. The two contracts together represent significant additions to the company’s thermal power O&M order portfolio.
Power Mech Projects had reported an order backlog of ₹55,398 crore at the end of the first quarter of FY27. During Q1 FY27, the company secured total order inflows of ₹1,864 crore, including orders from JSW Thermal Energy and South Western Railway.
The latest Telangana order will be executed over three years, with the contract value spread across the 36-month period. TGGENCO, the awarding state power generation utility, has no promoter or promoter group interest in Power Mech Projects, according to the information provided.
The company’s O&M operations form part of its broader presence in the power infrastructure and engineering, procurement and construction sector. The latest contract expands its involvement in the operation and maintenance of thermal power infrastructure and adds a state-owned power generation utility to its recent O&M customer base.
