Premier Energies reports robust Q1 FY27 earnings

Premier Energies Limited has kicked off  Q1 FY27 with another strong financial performance, reporting a 53% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit while simultaneously laying the groundwork for its next phase of expansion. Alongside announcing its quarterly earnings, the company’s Board of Directors approved a proposal to raise up to ₹5,000 crore through various capital market instruments, reinforcing its long-term growth strategy. The proposal will be placed before shareholders at the company’s upcoming Annual General Meeting.

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, the solar manufacturer reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹2,462.6 crore, representing a 35% increase from ₹1,820.7 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter last year. Consolidated net profit rose to ₹471.9 crore, compared with ₹307.8 crore in Q1 FY26, while earnings per share improved to ₹10.45 from ₹6.83 a year earlier. Sequentially, the company also registered steady growth, with revenue increasing from ₹2,230.3 crore in Q4 FY26 and profit rising from ₹456.8 crore.

The improved financial performance was reflected across key profitability metrics. Profit before tax climbed to ₹620.4 crore, supported by healthy operational growth despite higher expenses associated with increased business activity. Total income for the quarter reached ₹2,507.6 crore, underlining sustained demand for the company’s solar manufacturing business.

A notable development during the quarter was the consolidation of Transcon Industries Limited, following Premier Energies’ acquisition of a 51% stake completed in April 2026. The acquisition resulted in the creation of a new reporting segment—Power Transmission & Distribution Equipment—which contributed ₹106.5 crore in revenue during its first quarter of consolidation. The move marks Premier Energies’ strategic expansion beyond solar modules and cells into adjacent power infrastructure businesses, broadening its integrated clean energy portfolio.

On the strategic front, the Board approved a proposal to raise up to ₹5,000 crore through one or more permissible routes, including Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP), equity shares, convertible securities, warrants, or a combination of instruments, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals. While the company has not disclosed specific deployment plans, the proposed fundraising is expected to provide financial flexibility for capacity expansion, strategic investments, and future growth initiatives.

The Board also approved the reappointment of Surenderpal Singh Saluja as Chairman and Whole-time Director and Chiranjeev Singh Saluja as Managing Director for fresh five-year terms, ensuring leadership continuity. Separately, Premier Energies confirmed the termination of its proposed acquisition of KSolare Energy Pvt. Ltd., stating that the decision carries no financial implications. The company also recently incorporated Premier Battery Technologies Private Limited, signalling its continued interest in expanding its presence across the evolving clean energy value chain.

Premier Energies Q1 FY27 results reflect more than strong quarterly growth—they signal the company’s long-term ambition to expand its clean energy footprint. Backed by robust financial performance, strategic acquisitions, and proposed capital raising, Premier Energies appears well-positioned to accelerate capacity expansion, strengthen its integrated portfolio, and drive sustainable future growth.
