Hero Future Energies (HFE), the renewable energy business of the Hero Group, has appointed Olympic medallist and 2019 World Champion PV Sindhu as its new brand ambassador.
The partnership connects Sindhu’s achievements in international sport with HFE’s growing presence in India’s renewable energy industry. Through the association, the company aims to highlight the importance of clean energy in supporting India’s long-term economic growth and energy security.
Rahul Munjal, Founder and Chairman of Hero Future Energies, said Sindhu’s journey in sport reflects qualities that are also important to the renewable energy sector, including ambition, determination and a focus on long-term progress.
According to Munjal, the partnership represents an opportunity to celebrate India’s next phase of development while highlighting the role renewable energy can play in building a more sustainable future.
PV Sindhu said the transition towards clean energy would be an important part of India’s future. She also expressed her enthusiasm about joining hands with Hero Future Energies and being associated with the company’s renewable energy ambitions.
The partnership comes at a time when India is rapidly expanding its renewable energy capacity and increasing its focus on technologies that can provide reliable and flexible clean power.
Hero Future Energies has been active in India’s renewable energy sector for 14 years. The company currently has a renewable energy portfolio of 7.7 GWp, covering operational and under-development projects. Its portfolio also includes 2.9 GWh of battery energy storage capacity.
HFE has been expanding beyond conventional renewable power projects into more complex clean energy solutions. Its areas of focus include Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) and Round-the-Clock (RTC) power, which are designed to provide more consistent renewable electricity in response to changing demand.
Energy storage is another key area of the company’s expansion strategy. Battery energy storage systems can help integrate variable renewable generation into the power grid by storing electricity when supply is high and delivering it when required.
The company is also exploring emerging opportunities in green hydrogen as India seeks to diversify its clean energy ecosystem and reduce dependence on conventional energy sources.
Sindhu’s appointment gives HFE a high-profile platform to communicate its renewable energy ambitions to a wider audience. Her association with the company is expected to support its efforts to build greater awareness around clean energy and the role of new technologies in India’s evolving energy landscape.
As the country continues to increase renewable generation and develop solutions such as battery storage, FDRE, RTC power and green hydrogen, HFE is positioning itself to participate in the next stage of India’s clean energy transition.
