Rajasthan continues to demonstrate how committed leadership and meticulous on-ground execution can translate policy into tangible outcomes for citizens. The Chief Secretary of Rajasthan, Shri V. Srinivas, personally conducted a field visit to the PM-KUSUM Component-C site at Pawan Solar Plant, Bhupaeda village, Bansur Tehsil, highlighting the state’s administrative ownership and momentum in renewable energy development.
During the visit, Shri Srinivas interacted with Shri Balveer Singh Yadav, a progressive farmer who has installed solar energy systems on his land, generating approximately 4 MW of power. The Chief Secretary also engaged with over 100 local farmers, who shared their experiences and perspectives on how PM-KUSUM Component-C has impacted their farming operations.
Transforming Rural Lives through PM-KUSUM Component-C
The message from farmers was clear: PM-KUSUM Component-C is transforming rural communities. Key benefits include:
- Reliable, day-long, high-voltage power supply for agriculture
- Reduced dependence on traditional grid electricity
- Improved agricultural productivity, education outcomes, and overall quality of life
- Optimization of agriculture subsidy for innovative and productive uses
Component-C of the PM-KUSUM scheme emphasizes the solarisation of grid-connected pumps and feeders, moving rural agriculture towards energy self-reliance while simultaneously strengthening the electricity distribution system. This approach ensures that farmers not only have access to sustainable energy but also benefit from cost savings and operational efficiency in their agricultural practices.
Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Vision
Under the visionary guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the close supervision of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Rajasthan is steadily positioning itself as India’s renewable energy hub. The state’s proactive measures in implementing PM-KUSUM Component-C underscore its commitment to clean energy adoption, rural empowerment, and sustainable development, setting an example for other states in effective policy execution.
Shri V. Srinivas’s field visit signals strong administrative commitment and reinforces the state’s ongoing momentum in driving renewable energy initiatives, strengthening India’s broader transition to sustainable and energy-efficient agriculture.
