The Rajasthan government has conducted stakeholder consultations for the proposed 900 MW Rampura Pumped Storage Project to discuss its commercial framework, bidding structure, risk allocation and implementation strategy. The consultation meeting was held on September 16, 2026, bringing together industry participants to gather feedback on the development and execution framework of the large-scale energy storage project.
The discussions focused on several key aspects of the proposed project, including the division of responsibilities and scope of work, technical and financial eligibility requirements for bidders, and the identification and allocation of major project-related risks. Participants also shared their inputs on developing a commercially viable and bankable framework to support the project’s implementation.
The feedback received during the consultation will be considered while refining the project structure and preparing the draft bidding documents. The exercise is aimed at incorporating stakeholder perspectives into the tendering framework and addressing key commercial and technical considerations before moving towards the implementation stage.
The meeting was held in the presence of Arti Dogra, Energy Secretary, Rajasthan, and Dr. Rohit Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL).
The proposed 900 MW Rampura Pumped Storage Project is part of Rajasthan’s efforts to strengthen its energy storage infrastructure. Pumped storage projects can support renewable energy integration by storing surplus electricity and releasing it during periods of higher demand, thereby contributing to grid balancing and power system flexibility.
