The Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd. (RRECL) has floated a tender for the development of 33 MW grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) projects on state government and state government undertaking buildings in Baran, Bundi, Jodhpur, Pali, and Sirohi districts. The initiative is part of the state’s push towards renewable energy adoption and sustainable power infrastructure.
The selected bidders will be responsible for the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the rooftop solar PV projects, including net metering integration with the local distribution network (DISCOM). They will also handle all related civil works, electrical connections, AC/DC cabling, inverters, support structures, ACDB, solar and net meters, earthing, fire protection, remote monitoring systems, and grid interfacing approvals.
In addition, the bidders must provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for 25 years, ensuring long-term performance and sustainability. The projects are expected to achieve a minimum capacity utilization factor (CUF) of 15%, and solar modules must be mono- or polycrystalline, ALMM-compliant, with a minimum 540 Wp capacity.
Eligibility and Technical Criteria
Bidders must have commissioned at least one grid-connected solar PV plant of 5 kWp or more and a cumulative capacity of at least 10% of the quoted capacity in the last seven years.
Financial eligibility requires a minimum net worth of INR 60 lakh/MW and an average annual turnover of INR 1 crore/MW.

Project Timeline & Penalties
- Projects must be commissioned within 12 months from the date of award.
- Delays will attract liquidated damages of 5% per week for up to 20 weeks, after which the order may be canceled.
This tender represents a major step forward for Rajasthan’s renewable energy ambitions, enabling the state to expand rooftop solar infrastructure across key government facilities while promoting sustainable energy generation.
