Schneider Electric has transformed its electrical switches into a large-scale Ganpati installation in Pune as part of a season-long festive campaign. The initiative combines the company’s electrical products with traditional cultural elements, presenting the familiar switch in a new format as a festive symbol and introducing a distinctive approach to outdoor advertising during the Ganpati season.
At the heart of the installation is Ganpati’s blessing hand, inspired by Schneider Electric’s switches. The striking installation recreates the familiar abhaya mudra, turning an everyday object associated with the home into an unconventional festive expression.
The installation carries the line “Nirantar, Nirvighna Raha”, tying the visual back to Schneider Electric Home Solutions and the idea of staying powered and uninterrupted. By bringing together the familiar form of a switch with one of the most recognisable symbols of the festive season, the installation connects Schneider Electric’s innovation-led approach with the cultural relevance of India’s festive calendar.
The idea comes to life in the campaign film, capturing how a familiar everyday switch transforms into an unexpected expression of festive blessing.
Importantly, the activation forms part of a larger festive consumer journey. The festive season is also a key period when consumers renovate and upgrade their homes and make considered purchases across categories such as appliances, electronics and smartphones. Schneider Electric aims to engage these in-market audiences at the point of consideration, enabling them to seamlessly discover its Home Solutions portfolio and integrate electrical and home automation solutions into their broader festive purchase and home-upgrade journey.
The campaign therefore extends beyond creating awareness through OOH. Digital touchpoints help interested consumers discover Schneider Electric’s product offerings and move from inspiration to consideration, while strengthening the connection between festive purchases and upgrading the home with smarter, more contemporary electrical solutions.
Ratnesh Pandey, Vice President, Marketing, Schneider Electric India, said, “Festivals in India are moments of deep emotional connection, and we wanted to show up in a way that felt native to that moment rather than layered on top of it. The Ganpati installation takes something as familiar as a switch and reimagines it as a symbol that makes people pause and take notice. At the same time, festivities are an important moment when consumers are renovating their homes and investing in new appliances and technology. We want to make Schneider Electric Home Solutions a natural part of that consideration and make it easier for consumers to discover the right solutions as part of their overall festive purchase journey. That, for us, is where innovation and cultural relevance come together.”
The Ganpati installation marks the first in a series of festive expressions. As the season unfolds, the idea will take on new avatars, with each expression shaped by the spirit of the festival while holding on to one constant: the familiar form of a switch, reimagined as a cultural symbol.
The campaign builds on a philosophy Schneider Electric has been extending across its switches portfolio this year as part of its commitment to Advancing Energy Tech. Most recently seen through the premium Unica X range, it reflects the idea that innovation lives not just in what a switch does, but also in how it looks, feels and becomes part of people’s lives.
