Simple Energy Unveils Gen 2 Electric Scooter Lineup with New Flagship Simple Ultra

Electric vehicle manufacturer Simple Energy has unveiled its Gen 2 electric scooter portfolio, introducing the new flagship Simple Ultra alongside updated Simple One Gen 2 and Simple OneS Gen 2 models. With this launch, the company has expanded its portfolio to four distinct offerings catering to varied range and performance requirements.

The headline addition is the Simple Ultra, which the company claims is India’s longest-range electric scooter, powered by a 6.5 kWh battery delivering an IDC-certified range of 400 km. The scooter also stands out on performance, with a top speed of 115 kmph and 0–40 kmph acceleration in 2.77 seconds, positioning it as the country’s second-fastest electric scooter. Pricing for the Simple Ultra will be announced later, and the model is currently open for pre-booking.

The Simple One Gen 2 is now offered in two battery variants. The 4.5 kWh version, priced at ₹1,69,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), delivers an IDC range of 236 km, while the 5 kWh variant, priced at ₹1,77,999, offers an extended 265 km IDC range. The 4.5 kWh variant produces 6.4 kW of power and 52 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 90 kmph, while the 5 kWh version steps up to 8.8 kW and 72 Nm, achieving a 115 kmph top speed and 0–40 kmph acceleration in 2.55 seconds in Sonic mode.

The Simple OneS Gen 2 remains the more accessible option in the lineup. It features a 3.7 kWh battery, an improved IDC range of 190 km, a kerb weight of 118 kg, and delivers 6.5 kW power and 52 Nm torque, with a top speed of 90 kmph. It is offered at an introductory price of ₹1,39,999, which will increase to ₹1,49,999 after the offer period.

Built on Simple Energy’s in-house architecture, the Gen 2 scooters feature lighter kerb weights, improved underseat storage of 35 litres, and a 780 mm seat height. The Simple One Gen 2 models come equipped with traction control, six riding modes, four levels of regenerative braking, cruise control, and CBS disc brakes on both wheels, while the OneS Gen 2 receives braking upgrades, with a claimed stopping distance of 18.49 metres.

In terms of connectivity, the Simple One Gen 2 features a 7-inch touchscreen dashboard, while the OneS Gen 2 uses a non-touch display. Both support LTE-enabled e-SIM with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, over-the-air updates, and safety features such as Find My Vehicle, TPMS, Park Assist, and IP65-rated protection. All models support home charging via a portable 750W charger, with compatibility for public fast chargers offering 0–80 per cent charging in around 2 hours and 15 minutes, depending on the variant.

Commenting on the launch, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO, Simple Energy, said, “Our Gen 2 portfolio reflects an innovation-first approach, offering differentiated products across range and performance needs. Simple Ultra delivers an industry-first 400 km IDC range, setting new benchmarks for Indian electric two-wheelers. We’re delivering confidence, freedom, and truly anxiety-free mobility.”

Simple Energy said the Gen 2 scooters are currently available through 61+ showrooms across India, including Bengaluru, Pune, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Kochi, and are also sold online via Amazon and Flipkart. The company plans to expand its footprint to 150 dealerships and 200 service centres by March 2026.

The company is also preparing for an IPO in FY27, targeting a fundraise of around USD 350 million, while aiming to achieve EBITDA positivity before the end of FY26. To date, Simple Energy has raised USD 51 million from investors including Dr. Arokiaswamy Velumani’s family office, the Haran family office, the Desai family office, and others.
