Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) has announced a major addition to its domestic order book, securing new project wins worth approximately ₹3,550 crore. The key highlight of this development is the company being declared the L1 (lowest) bidder for a large-scale 875 MW (AC) solar photovoltaic (PV) project awarded by Coal India in Rajasthan. With these wins, SWREL’s total EPC order inflows for FY26 have crossed ₹10,062 crore, surpassing its initial annual guidance.
Expanding Solar Footprint with Landmark Rajasthan Project
SWREL has been chosen as the L1 bidder for a prestigious turnkey Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract. This is a big step forward in the company’s growth. For Coal India, the project is to build an 875 MW (AC) solar PV plant in Bikaner, Rajasthan, that is connected to the grid.
The total contract value, including Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services and applicable taxes, is estimated at approximately ₹3,490 crore. This large-scale project further strengthens SWREL’s presence in India’s rapidly expanding solar energy landscape.
Additional Win in Maharashtra Reinforces Market Position
The company has also received an order for a 50 MW (AC) solar project in Maharashtra, in addition to the Rajasthan project. A top Indian private Independent Power Producer (IPP) has given the project the green light.
These two wins in a row show that SWREL is very good at what it does and is a strong competitor in the domestic renewable energy EPC market.
Order Inflows Reflect Strong FY26 Performance
Following these recent developments, SWREL has exceeded its projected order inflow targets for FY26, with total EPC orders now surpassing ₹10,062 crore.
Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Chandra Kishore Thakur, Global CEO, stated that these project wins reaffirm the company’s commitment to contributing to India’s renewable energy growth story. He added that the strong order pipeline provides a solid foundation as the company moves into its next phase of expansion.
The most recent orders show that Sterling and Wilson is playing a bigger role in helping India move to clean energy and solidifying its position as a leader in the solar EPC space.
